at uncle pete's farm.

Anyone have any helpful hints about crowquill pens? I am having this problem lately where the ink refuses to come out. The little blades spread apart and there is plenty of ink there, but it doesn’t want to draw. Ink too thick? Holding it wrong? Any hints?

I’ve had the same problem. Someone recommended keeping a small dish of water nearby and to dip your pen nib in it whenever you have trouble with ink flow. (I use the lid from a juice bottle.) That and wear cheap cotton gloves. Oil from your hands can get on the paper and affect how it grabs the ink.
